Adventures

I looked up the word adventure in a on-line dictionary to ensure I was using it correctly in this blog. The meaning of adventure is:
ad·ven·ture
/adˈven(t)SHər,ədˈven(t)SHər/
noun
an unusual and exciting, typically hazardous, experience or activity.
synonyms: exploitescapadedeedfeatexperience

Oh, I am definitely using it correctly.  It seems like every where we go and every thing we do turns in to an adventure. It could be the simplest activity and it ends up being challenging, exciting, and even requiring skill and patience to extract our selves from the situation which in some incidents was hazardous.

Some times the hazard was to our physical well being, like the time we snow machined out to the cabin, in the dead of winter, with two children ages 8 & 6, and the snow was soft and 3 feet deep. We were exhausted from all the pushing and pulling because the snow machines just kept sinking in the soft, deep snow.

Some times the hazard was to our emotional well being, like the time we were hunting and I had to spend several hours on a rainy, cold and extremely dark night by myself under an over turned canoe on the bank of a river while I waited for Dan to come get me.  With the rain coming down and hitting the aluminum canoe I could not hear a thing, but my imagination sure was hearing lots of activity, like wolves howling in the distance. We were only going our for a couple hours in the evening but we never got home until 3:00 in the morning.

We have had numerous adventures over the years. Some here at home or out at the cabin. Some adventures when we have traveled within Canada (near) and many more adventures when we have traveled outside of Canada (far).

This blog is about sharing some of our adventures with you through stories and photos.

Come see what adventure is next?
